From IMDb:

Flamboyant Zani grew up and works in the zoo. He loves animals so much that he steals animal furs from the women who wear them. Zani coaxes young beautiful Eve, an orphan, to escape her caretakers while on a group visit to the zoo. Dr. Grunbaum, the zoo director, is forced to organize a search party to capture both Zani and Eve....

Re: ABCs at the Movies: Movies with Mountains
« Reply #3695 on: April 28, 2008, 01:12:38 pm »
What's next?  I have three hours in which I can play!!

How about...movies with mountains. This can be a movie with a mountain in the title (ie, Brokeback Mountain) or a movie in which a mountain features prominently (ie, Brokeback Mountain!). Things that are coming to mind are spy thrillers where they are running through the Alps, movies like The Pink Panther (note, The Pink Panther hasn't been played), pioneers hiking over the Rockies....get the idea?

Unplayed movies, 1888-2013. Wildcard X is in effect. Have fun!

Amazon.ca Canadian Essential
A self-styled "pro-incest" movie about a town in the Alps where the fear of avalanches means that no one speaks above a whisper? When Winnipeg's Prairie surrealist Guy Maddin, slowly working his way through the forgotten genres of early film, decided to turn to the German Alpine pictures of the 1930s, he created what is so far his masterpiece. Awash with colour and filled [ds1]with forbidden whispers, Careful finds the perfect balance between Maddin's senses of kitsch and tragedy.

Great theme for a round.

Yucky topic for a movie.

I don't know, I though Ethan Hawke looked delicious in it!

"D" is Dogstar (1997)
« Reply #3699 on: April 28, 2008, 02:34:45 pm »
This sounds interesting.  This game teaches me a lot.

From IMDb: The story of Dogstar, a reclusive artist, who lives with his bohemian mother in a remote mountain home.  Writer/Director Sophie Dia Pegrum has an unusual story-telling style and a visual style of great imagination. This story of a reclusive astronomer who is brought out of his shell by an unexpected visitor is both real and other-worldly. The esemble of actors are diamonds-in-the-rough but their rough edges are balanced by their honesty and commitment to the actions that Ms. Pegrum wrote for them to play.
