Well thanks Darlin'!!!  :)

I had a rough night last night, and not for a good reason.

I went to bed just fine at 10:00, and at 12:30 woke up.  For whatever reason, I had an allergic reaction to something, and it caused my uvula to swell up.  It wasn't enough to close off my throat, but it was large and painful, and it made it impossible to sleep laying down.

I got up and had some ice cream, and the frozen treat helped with the swelling.  I then took my sheets and blanket and slept in my reclining chair the rest of the night.  I woke a few times, but managed to get enough sleep so that I could function today.

That's scary!  Do you have any idea what it might have been?

Ice cream is fine, but next time, try some Benadryl.

Yikes! That must have been so frightening!

Glad you were able to stay calm and handle it, Chuck.

If something similar happened to me, I think I would have called an ambulance.

That's the downside of living alone - noone nearby to help you when you need it  :(

I have no idea what happened.  I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary, wasn't bitten by anything, I can't pinpoint it.   I have Claratin in my meds drawer, but I also picked up Benadryl on Friday.  I just used ice cream to reduce the swelling quickly.

Well, if it had been the first time this happened, maybe.  I've had allergy issues before where that happened, so while it was unexpected, I knew what was happening (just not what caused it) and was able to do what I needed to stop it.

I was fine on Friday, no pain and the swelling had gone down. I slept in my bed as usual last night, and everything is fine today too.

I'm going out shopping today, using the gift cards that I was given for Christmas, perhaps to get new shoes and sneakers.  I'll also get a new CD rack, as my first two are full.

That is a GDBOAUS!

You must have eaten, ingested or breathed in something terribly wrong while you were celebrating Christmas. Let us know when you figure out what it was!

Hello Bettermost Friends!

Yup, it's almost time to say good-bye to the old year, and greet the new one.  Do you all have plans?

I'll be by my friends' Tina & Bill's place for a quiet party, just a late dinner and dessert and such.

Hello Bettermost Friends!

it's new year's eve!  ;D

I'm at work and (at the moment) very much alone!  It's sooo funny to see how quiet it is!  I can leave in two hours, and then I'll head home, (maybe) take a quick nape, shave and shower, and go to my friends' place for dinner and drinks and dessert.

Hello Bettermost Friends!

Welcome to 2014!!!

I hope that everyone had a fun, safe, enjoyable New Year's celebration!  I know I did.

Today's picture is for the weather, as we are under a winter storm warning here in my area, from 6PM this evening until 1pm tomorrow.

We could see anywhere from 6-12 inches of snow.  ;D

My car is gassed up, fridge has food in it, and the cabinets are stocked as well.  I know I'll have to be at work tomorrow no matter what, but this should make for a quiet Friday.  ;D

Hi Chucky, hapy new year.....

Its all over but the shouting eh!...Christmas and new year celebrations done for another year.

Looks like the northern and southern hemispheres are having extremes in their weather....down here we are having record heat waves and a dire need for rain, as a lot of the country is in drought.

I wish you, and all your friends on here, a happy and healthy 2014...
Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfection
