Fun chapter, Louise. Lots of great dialog in this one, like:

“He is no transient, Jerry, he’s a laborer – it is different. He is friends with these ... people, Lauren and his jeweler friend, and I went down to talk to him and Simon was positively rude to me. Whatever Lance said to him I can’t imagine, but he was positively horrible to me. I felt like an absolute pariah.”

“A laborer then. You deserve better. Don’t worry about that boy, Chas, come on, let’s have some fun. That’s what they got the police for, to worry about laborers and such.”

Thanks for a laugh first thing in the morning!

Well, as Jerry said to Chas: 'You deserve better.'

I agree and I don't think Jerry is it. He could be a bit more considerate towards Chas who's obviously concerned about Lance's disappearance.

thanks for the chapter Louise!

well I do think it is time for Jeeves to show his human side, a few folks have been waiting quite a while for "will the real Jeeves please stand up?"

heheh.

That really was a fun and interesting chapter!  Yes, Jerry is being boorish and insensitive, but Jeeves himself isn't a complete stranger to boorish behavior at times.  It is nice to see him showing his human side, and it's also nice to see that he is still so very Jeeves:  “I don’t drive trucks,”. . .  LOL!

Thanks, Louise
Marie

P.S.  I noticed Jeeves brought mentioned Richard the truck driver - that's interesting.  Watch out for Simon, Jeeves!  Didn't he tell you to stay away from Lauren?

I have never felt Jeeves to be less than human.  I was hoping he's got a good man in Jerry, looks like it's not the case.

SPOILER

Lots going on in Greenlea County (Amos Marigold!) - but, first things first - will Jeremy fax those invoices fast enough to get out front and head Nick off at the pass?  This should be interesting . . . .

I'm working on it I'm working on it!

I missed a night's sleep and ended up sleeping in the evening, so I am picking away at the next chapter and am about half done.
