Spoiler

This is from Ch.39

“Some a them adorable queer guys gonna be there? Like that waiter ? Oh my lord.”

“No, he ain’t gonna be there. He don’t work at the bar no more.”

If not Nick, who was she referring to?

Lance, I guess. But I think there was a misunderstanding between Ennis and Alma jr. I think she meant Nick but Ennis thought of Lance given what happened with Francie. That's my take on it.

The whole issue with the girls moving to the apartment came up at Christmas in the Red Stallions for Christmas story. This one (A Small Circle of Friends) is taking place in the weeks between, starting when Ennis was finally healed from his legbone (Nov 12). Now we are up to Thanksgiving.

Nick is still working at the bar but moved in with Jeremy, so at the moment, the apartment is empty. Alma Jr. and Francine are still living in Riverton.

Leslie

Thanks, Leslie  :) I was really confused too.

Yes, I think she had to have meant Lance.  At this point, Junior hasn't seen Nick yet - if I remember correctly, the first time she sees him is a couple days before Christmas when Francine and Junior arrive early at the bar.

InSergio = Latin for I am doing it with Sergio

Now if I remember from school:

inSergio = I am doing it with Sergio
inSergias = you are doing it with Sergio
inSergiat = he is doing it with Sergio
inSergiamus = we are are doing with Sergio
inSergiatis = you (more than one) are doing it with Sergio
inSergiant = they are doing it with Sergio

Thanks for the refresher David!
