I admit I made bread first.  But I wrote the chapter before piano practice and dinner!

SPOILERS

I guess Wayne is the proof that the more things change, the more they stay the same.  That boy sure does get around.

Looks like the reinforcements are on their way and hopefuly everything's coming together at once.  Still worried about Jeeves at the Rawhide ....

Thanks,
Marie

P.S.  Mr. Spanky?  Holy Crap.  I'm pretty sure Simon is smart enough not to say that in front of Colson!

SPOILERS

I've been meaning to mention how spot-on you are with Wes's and Mel's reactions and thoughts.  I've dealt with enough D.A.'s, sheriff's and other elected officials over the years to know that this is exactly how they think. They're not heartless - just realistic.  I like watching Wes deal with Barry, and he's right in that it's easier to deal with rebellion than depression.  I'm guessin we'll be hearing more about Fred Isling and others ....

Love that Wes is so proud of his Ellery; he can't help but crow about him.

Will be interesting to see Dupree's (and Nick's reaction) to Creepy Ray's involvement (and Jeremy did find Ray's number at Lance's ....)   Can't wait for more!

Thanks,
Marie

wow, that is high praise indeed, Marie!  If you ever have any thoughts come up you want to share about the plots of these things and the investigations, just give the Greenlea County Sheriff's department a call!  I'll be there in a minute!

and of course, you know it isnt over with Mel and his son, and it isnt over with Paula either!

As we all think of Lance in his time of distress, we might do well to remember what Lance looks like (I dug this up from the archives....)
